A woman with breast cancer or DCIS has a choice of treatments—each with a potentially different impact on her life.

Although being diagnosed with breast cancer can be overwhelming, many women find that participating with their doctors in making treatment decisions helps them to feel more confident that their treatment is the best choice for them.

The first step is to learn about your treatment choices and to consider how you feel about them.

Take the time you need. Get as much information as you need. Figure out what’s really right for you. Make sure that you come to a decision that you can be comfortable with, no matter what happens down the road, and that you know that the decision you made is right for you now, and then go with it.
